The Swift House
A short-term rental design refresh project in
East Nashville, Tennessee
Project Overview
This Nashville short-term rental was already live when we were brought in to refresh the design and realign the property with its primary guest demographic: bachelorette groups and celebration travel.
Rather than pursuing a full renovation, the strategy focused on high-impact design intervention. A bright, tropical, color-forward concept was introduced to elevate the space through layered styling, playful patterns, and intentional visual moments that create a fun, high-energy experience without structural changes.
The goal was to transform the property from a functional group rental into a memorable destination stay. Pops of color, photo-friendly moments, and themed design elements were strategically placed to enhance shareability, listing appeal, and emotional booking intent.
Durability and operational performance were integrated into the design approach from the start. High-traffic areas, particularly hallways impacted by rolling luggage, were redesigned with paint and wallpaper solutions that both increased visual interest and reduced ongoing maintenance needs.
The result is a vibrant, high-performing STR that stands out in a competitive Nashville market while remaining functional for frequent turnover and group stays.
Design Strategy
This home was designed for celebration-driven group travel, with a primary focus on bachelorette parties, girls’ trips, and social group stays. The target guest profile prioritizes fun, visual impact, shareability, and experience-driven design over traditional luxury or neutral aesthetics.
Market analysis revealed a saturated East Nashville STR landscape where many group rentals compete on size and location but lack visual identity and emotional differentiation. This created a clear opportunity to reposition the property through bold color, playful theming, and high-energy visual storytelling rather than renovation-heavy investment.
Performance goals were directly tied to booking behavior. The design prioritized:
Scroll-stopping visual appeal in listing photography
Strong thematic clarity for instant recognition
Photo-friendly moments for social sharing
Market differentiation within group accommodations
Durability in high-traffic zones
Operational efficiency for frequent turnovers
The result is a property that performs as both a celebration-focused experience stay and a conversion-driven short-term rental asset.
